LaRE Summer Camp

Co-founded a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free hands-on EECS experience to youth in underserved communities through an eight day summer program. Worked with my cofounders to develop and deliver a high school robotics curriculum from scratch. I was involved with the program for four summers.

Introductory Computer Science

Co-taught an introductory computer science course for 10th and 11th graders at the Young Women's Leadership School of Brooklyn.

Google.org Fellowship with Laboratoria

This was a two week consulting gig sponsored by Google.org where a team of Googlers flew out to Lima, Peru to work with the founders of Laboratoria, a programming bootcamp for underserved women in Latin America. We worked on developing and editing curriculum materials, engaging in brainstorming sessions, and speaking directly with the students about our work in the software industry. One of the highlights for me was authoring a student-friendly JavaScript style guide (which I had always wanted for my own classes), which was adopted by both Laboratoria and the New York Code + Design Academy.

Game Programming with StarLogo TNG, Scratch, and Khan Academy

Taught basic programming skills to middle school students using StarLogo TNG, Scratch, and Khan Academy’s Processing.js tool. Developed a 10-week introductory curriculum based on Khan Academy’s Processing.js tool. Also served as volunteer coordinator for Amplify Education’s Brooklyn office.

6.01 (Intro to EECS I) — Teaching Assistant

Led design labs and tutorials for MIT's introductory EECS course, helping students with Python programming, control systems, circuits, and probabilistic inference.

6.004 (Computation Structures) — Teaching Assistant

Taught weekly recitation sections and held office hours as students worked their way up from transistors to a working processor design.

MIT Women's Initiative

Traveled to rural Arkansas to present interactive workshops encouraging middle and high school girls to pursue careers in engineering.

6.005 (Elements of Software Design) — Lab Assistant

Helped students design, build, and debug object-oriented Java projects during weekly lab hours.

6.004 (Computation Structures) — Lab Assistant

Assisted students with labs ranging from CMOS gate design to writing assembly for the course's Beta processor.

MIT Women's Technology Program — Computer Science Residential Tutor

Lived in the dorm with and tutored high school girls in a four-week residential summer program covering computer science, discrete math, and electronics.

8.02 (Physics II: Electricity and Magnetism) — Undergraduate Teaching Assistant

Assisted in MIT's TEAL studio physics classroom, guiding students through experiments and group problem-solving on electricity and magnetism.
